Our (my wife and me) story may be a little different from anyone else in the Natural Products business. We didn't think our path would lead us into building a business that we love and sourcing the best and highest quality essential oils in the world. 

 

For the last 12 years my wife has had to deal with serious health conditions that have completely changed our lives. She went from super active to super invalid over a short period of time. At one time the illness got so dire that we had to move to a completely different part of the country due to climate and conditions in the area. I would come home from work with many neighbors and volunteers at my house helping my wife do normal 'mom' tasks that she loved and appreciated doing. Friends could not come over because they would wear perfumes or deodorants that would make her very ill. We couldn't go to other homes due to cleaners, shampoos, dish soap and other smells that most homes have. Our lives had to change. My wife became a 'human chemical detector' in a sense which required strict living guidelines to maintain a normal and somewhat livable life. 

 

We immediately had to implement clean living. If we messed up on our strategy/implentation for clean and natural living, even a little, my wife's body would respond negatively and could be weeks or months before recovery. We became label researchers, knowing exactly what was going into our bodies. She can't tolerate any pesticides or chemicals even to a small extent. We were surprised at how many chemicals we put into our bodies. We just trusted that because it said "all natural" or "non-toxic" that it was okay to use. NOT TRUE!  We were shocked to find out that "non-toxic" guidelines state that only 49% or less of the product could contained toxic ingredients to be considered 'Non-Toxic'!  How could we trust labels after that?

 

As a husband, one would do anything in his power to help his wife. He can cry and comfort her in every way but still that isn't enough. After buying a top brand of essential oils and diffusing them, my wife had gotten very sick. When we did research further we realized that the oil, although stated '100%' pure, it was not.  It contained fillers, additives and synthetic compounds. To say that we were tired of being bamboozled by untrue labeling on multiple products we were using is an understatement! We decided to create our own line of products that we could use everyday without the fear that it may not be organic or pure. 

 

Vivo Oils was born! Vivo means 'I live' or 'alive' in Latin.
